7878 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Governor's mansion study committee; membership; duties; report; delayed repeal A. The governor's mansion study committee is established consisting of the following members: 1. Three members of the house of representatives, two of whom are appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives from the majority party and one of whom is appointed by the governor from the minority party. The speaker of the house of representatives shall designate one of these members to serve as cochairperson of the committee. 2. Three members of the senate, two of whom are appointed by the president of the senate from the majority party and one of whom is appointed by the governor from the minority party. The president of the senate shall designate one of these members to serve as cochairperson of the committee. 3. Three public members, one of whom is appointed by the president of the senate, one of whom is appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives and one of whom is appointed by the governor. B. The committee shall: 1. Meet as often as the cochairpersons deem necessary. 2. Explore the possibility of building a governor's mansion in this state. 3. On or before December 1, 2024, submit a report regarding the committee's activities and recommendations to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state. C. This section is repealed from and after September 30, 2025.
