AN ACT

 

Amending title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2909.01; relating to the Arizona health care cost containment system.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2909.01, to read: START_STATUTE36-2909.01. Emergency hospitalization and medical care; rural hospitals; reimbursement; definition A. Beginning in fiscal year 2025-2026 and each fiscal year thereafter, nOtwithstanding any other provision of this article relating to the reimbursement of emergency hospitalization and medical care, the administration shall increase the fee-for-service reimbursement rates for emergency hospitalization and medical care provided by rural hospitals by thirty percent over the fiscal year 2024-2025 reimbursement rates. B. For the purposes of this section, "rural hospital" means a hospital that is located in a county with a population of less than one million persons. END_STATUTE 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2909.01, to read:

A. Beginning in fiscal year 2025-2026 and each fiscal year thereafter, nOtwithstanding any other provision of this article relating to the reimbursement of emergency hospitalization and medical care, the administration shall increase the fee-for-service reimbursement rates for emergency hospitalization and medical care provided by rural hospitals by thirty percent over the fiscal year 2024-2025 reimbursement rates.

B. For the purposes of this section, "rural hospital" means a hospital that is located in a county with a population of less than one million persons. END_STATUTE
