69- Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Laws 2024, chapter 209, section 18 is amended to read: Sec. 18. ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE 2024-25 FTE positions 209.4 214.4 Operating lump sum appropriation $ 16,941,200 Agricultural employment relations board 23,300 Animal damage control 65,000 Red imported fire ant control 23,200 Agricultural consulting and training 135,700 Total appropriation Arizona department of agriculture $ 17,188,400 Fund sources: State general fund $ 15,605,100 Air quality fund 1,583,300 Sec. 2. Appropriations; Arizona department of agriculture; intent A. In addition to any other appropriations made in fiscal year 2025-2026, the sum of $957,175 and five full-time equivalent positions are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2025-2026 to the Arizona department of agriculture for: 1. Three livestock inspectors. 2. One veterinary assistant. 3. One veterinary technician. B. The legislature intends that $532,725 and five full-time equivalent portions of the appropriations made in subsection A of this section be considered ongoing funding in future years.

The department shall allocate the five additional full-time equivalent positions to prioritize brand inspections in Graham and Greenlee counties.
