7676 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 9, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 9-500.52, to read: START_STATUTE9-500.52. Parking; civil penalties; maximum allowed; expedited payment A. The governing body of a municipality may not establish an ordinance or regulation that imposes a civil penalty that exceeds four hundred percent of the daily maximum parking fee that is charged for parking in the same parking location and at the same date and time in which the civil penalty was imposed. b. The governing body of a municipality shall establish the following civil penalties for expedited payment of civil penalties for parking violations: 1. iF THE civil PENALTY IS PAID WITHIN SEVEN business DAYS after the civil penalty is imposed, THE GOVERNING BODY OF the MUNICIPALITY MAY NOT IMPOSE A civil PENALTY OF MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED FIFTY PERCENT OF THE daily maximum PARKING FEE THAT is CHARGED for parking in the same parking location and at the same date and time in which the civil penalty was imposed. 2. If the civil penalty is paid within eight to fourteen business days after the civil penalty is imposed, the governing body of the municipality may not impose a civil penalty of more than two hundred percent of the daily maximum parking fee that is charged for parking in the same parking location and at the same date and time in which the civil penalty was imposed.
