(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE)

Fred P. Shulski, Jr. passed away on December 10, 2024 at the age of fifty-five. Fred P. Shulski, Jr. was born in Carmel, California to Fred and Anna Marie Shulski on May 19, 1969. His early life was defined by travel and new adventures, as his father's army career as a pediatric dentist took him and his family across the country and abroad. The first few of many of Fred's passions started at the age of five when his father was stationed in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where Fred discovered his life-long love for the Kansas City Chiefs. Later in his life, Fred attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he pursued a degree in biology and eventually met his future wife, Melissa, to whom he was married for twenty-seven years. While waiting to attend medical school, Fred found the path to his future career at the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina. Fred earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, and Fred and Melissa married while Fred completed his medical degree. Fred's next journey brought him and his family across the country to Phoenix, Arizona, where he began his career as a pediatrician in a residency program at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. After completing the residency program, Fred went on to work as a pediatrician at MVP Kids Care for the next 23 years. As Fred settled into his career in Phoenix, Fred and Melissa put down roots and started a family. Together they raised their three children, Hannah, Paul and Claire who were the loves of Fred's life and brought him great joy. Fred also devoted himself to charity and volunteer work across the city. Some of this work included volunteering as the team doctor at football games for both St. John Paul II Catholic High School and Youngker High School, serving as a board member of Catholic Charities and chief of staff at Maryvale Hospital, and volunteering countless hours at St. John Vianney Catholic School. Fred was a devoted family man, a loving father, a joyful and compassionate pediatrician and a selfless pillar of his community. The legacy of compassion and service that he leaves behind is an inspiration to others to follow in his footsteps. Fred will be greatly missed by his family, patients, colleagues and many friends. Therefore Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona: That the Members of the House of Representatives express sincere regret at the death of Fred P. Shulski, Jr. and extend their deepest sympathies to his surviving family members.
