(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE) Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 13, chapter 16, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 13-1606, to read: START_STATUTE13-1606. Unlawful release of balloons; classification A. it is unlawful for a person who is at least eighteen years of age to intentionally release, organize the release of, supervise the release of or cause to be released ten or more balloons inflated with gas that is lighter than air except for any of the following: 1. balloons that are released by a person on behalf of a governmental agency or pursuant to a governmental contract for scientific or meteorological purposes. 2. hot air balloons that are recovered after launching. 3. balloons that are released indoors. B. A violation of this section is a petty offense.END_STATUTE Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1.
