An Act

 

amending title 28, chapter 3, article 10, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 28-798; relating to pedestrian rights and duties.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 28, chapter 3, article 10, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 28-798, to read: START_STATUTE28-798. Pedestrian on traffic island or median prohibited; exceptions A. A PEDESTRIAN may not remain on a painted traffic median or a raised traffic island or median that is less than ten feet wide except while expeditiously crossing the traffic median or island from one side of a street to another. B. This section does not apply to either of the following: 1. A person who is dealing with an exigent circumstance, including a medical emergency or motor vehicle problem. 2. A traffic median or island that contains constructed paths, sidewalks, bus stops, benches or similar structures that are DESIGNED to accommodate a person's presence. END_STATUTE 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 28, chapter 3, article 10, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 28-798, to read:

START_STATUTE28-798. Pedestrian on traffic island or median prohibited; exceptions

B. This section does not apply to either of the following:
