69- To the State Board on Geographic and Historic Names:To the [Arizona Department of Transportation] [State Board on Geographic and Historic Names]: Your memorialist respectfully represents: Whereas, Donald J. Trump was the 45th and is the 47th duly elected President of the United States; and Whereas, in the 2024 presidential election, Donald J. Trump won the popular vote, becoming the first Republican nominee for president to do so in 20 years; and Whereas, Donald J. Trump has established the Department of Government Efficiency, which will dismantle government bureaucracy, eliminate excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure federal agencies; and Whereas, during his first term in office Donald J. Trump built over 400 miles of the world's most robust and advanced border wall, and he has pledged to further secure our southern border during his second term; and Whereas, President Donald J. Trump stands for a strong manufacturing base and fair agreements for international trade; and Whereas, President Trump steadfastly supports a strong military and strengthening our national defense; and Whereas, President Trump's energy plan includes several ambitious policy prescriptions designed to establish American energy dominance and to remove regulatory burdens on the use of energy, while at the same time ensuring meaningful environmental protection and continued progress toward cleaner air and water; and Whereas, during his first term in office, President Trump helped pass $3.2 trillion in historic tax relief and reform the tax code; and Whereas, during his first term in office, President Donald J. Trump canceled United States participation in the United Nations Paris Climate Agreement and ended all payments of United States tax dollars to the United Nations Green Climate Fund; and Whereas, during his first term in office, President Trump discontinued the use of "sue and settle" lawsuits that had the effect of imposing government policy on behalf of special interests without congressional authorization or input from the states, other interested parties and the general public; and Whereas, during his first term in office, 4,000,000 jobs were created, more than 400,000 of those in manufacturing, which is the fastest manufacturing growth rate in more than three decades; and Whereas, during his first term in office, President Trump signed the Executive Order on Modernizing the Regulatory Framework for Agricultural Biotechnology Products, which helped bring innovative new technologies to market in American farming and agriculture; and Whereas, President Trump established the Governors' Initiative on Regulatory Innovation to reduce outdated regulations at the state, local and tribal levels; and Whereas, during the third quarter of 2020, the economy grew at a rate of 33.1%, the most rapid GDP growth ever recorded; and Whereas, Donald J. Trump's top priority as president is the best interests of American workers and American families. Wherefore your memorialist, the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring, prays: 1. That the State Board on Geographic and Historic Names designate State Route 260 as the "Donald J. Trump Highway". 2.
