LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1056, as introduced, Tom Berryhill. Forest practices: timber harvesting plans. The Z'berg-Nejedly Forest Practice Act of 1973 prohibits a person from conducting timber operations, as defined, unless a timber harvesting plan prepared by a registered professional forester has been submitted to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and approved. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 4581 of the Public Resources Code is amended to read: 4581.NoA person shall not conduct timber operations unless a timber harvesting plan prepared by a registered professional forester has been submitted forsuchthose operations to the department pursuant to this article.SuchThe timber harvesting plan shall be required in addition to the license required in Section 4571.
