Education: childhood obesity. Existing law requires the State Department of Education to ensure that the nutrition level of meals served to schoolage children is of the highest quality and greatest nutritional level possible. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to decrease the number of children classified as obese or overweight by, among other things, educating all children in school about making healthier food choices and the importance of regular physical activity.
