LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2471, as introduced, John A. Perez. Vehicles: identification cards and driver's licenses. Existing law prohibits the manufacturing or sale of identification documents that are substantially similar to identification cards and driver's licenses issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. This bill would suspend a license or permit of a business for a period of 6 months if the business is found guilty of violating the above prohibition. The bill would require the clerk of the court to issue an abstract of the judgment to the agency or department that has issued the license or permit to the business. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 13004.2 is added to the Vehicle Code, to read: 13004.2. (a) A business that holds a license or permit issued by an agency or department of the state pursuant to the Business and Professions Code, Civil Code, or the Financial Code, and is found guilty of violating Section 13004.1 shall have its license or permit suspended for six months. (b) The clerk of the court shall forward a copy of the abstract of the judgment to the agency or department that has issued the license or permit to the business. SEC. 2. Section 14610.2 is added to the Vehicle Code, to read: 14610.2. (a) A business that holds a license or permit issued by an agency or department of the state pursuant to the Business and Professions Code, Civil Code, or the Financial Code, and is found guilty of violating Section 14610.1 shall have its license or permit suspended for six months. (b) The clerk of the court shall forward a copy of the abstract of the judgment to the agency or department that has issued the license or permit to the business.
