 BILL NUMBER: AB 415INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Nestande FEBRUARY 23, 2009 An act to amend Section 1569.3 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to residential care facilities for the elderly. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 415, as introduced, Nestande. Residential care facilities for the elderly. Under existing law, the California Community Care Facilities Act, the State Department of Social Services licenses and regulates, residential care facilities for the elderly, as defined. Violation of those provisions is a crime. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 1569.3 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read: 1569.3. The license of  any   a  facility licensed as a residential facility for the elderly under the California Community Care Facilities Act provided for in Chapter 3 (commencing with Section 1500) on January 1, 1986, shall automatically be transferred for the unexpired term of the license to licensure as a residential care facility for the elderly under this chapter.
