 BILL NUMBER: AB 1317INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Norby FEBRUARY 18, 2011 An act to amend Section 33331 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to redevelopment. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1317, as introduced, Norby. Community development: plan consistency. The Community Redevelopment Law authorizes the establishment of redevelopment agencies in communities to address the effects of blight, as defined, in blighted areas in those communities known as project areas. In addition to meeting other requirements, existing law requires that every redevelopment plan be consistent with the community's general plan. This bill would require, in addition to consistency with the general plan, that the plan be consistent with any specific plan for which the community has adopted for the same territory. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 33331 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read: 33331. Every redevelopment plan shall be consistent with the community's general plan  and any specific plan which the community has adopted for the same territory  .
