The Tort Claims Act provides for the liability and immunity of a governmental entity for its acts or omissions that cause harm to persons, and defines a public entity for these purposes. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 811.2 of the Government Code is amended to read: 811.2. "Public entity" includes the state, the Regents of the University of California, the Trustees of the California State University and the California State University, a county, city, district, public authority, public agency, and any other political subdivision or public corporation in theStatestate .
