LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1399, as introduced, Anderson. California Gambling Control Commission. Existing law establishes the California Gambling Control Commission and grants the commission jurisdiction over the supervision, operation, and concentration of gambling establishments in the state. Existing law authorizes the commission to employ not more than 8 attorneys. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to this provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Section 19820 of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 19820. The commission may employ not more than eight attorneys. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to exempt the commission from the operation ofSectionSections 11040, 11042,orand 11043 of the Government Code.
