LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 158, as introduced, Huff. Community redevelopment commission. Existing law creates and establishes in each community, as defined, a public body, corporate and politic, known as the community development commission. Existing law creates and establishes the commission in order that a community may have the option of operating and governing its redevelopment agency, or its redevelopment agency and housing authority, under a single operating entity and board. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to the definition of the term "community." Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 34100 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read: 34100. "Community" means a city, county, city and county, or Indian tribe, band or group which is incorporated orwhichotherwise exercises some local governmental powers.
