LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 762, as introduced, Yee. Fish and wildlife: taking and possession. Existing law makes it unlawful to take any bird, mammal, fish, reptile, or amphibian except as provided in the Fish and Game Code or regulations made pursuant to that code. Possession of those animals, or animal parts, under specified circumstances is prima facie evidence the possessor took the animal or animal parts. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2000 of the Fish and Game Code is amended to read: 2000. It is unlawful to take any bird, mammal, fish, reptile, or amphibian except as provided in this code or regulations made pursuant  thereto.   to this code.
