LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1007, as amended, McCarty. Minimum wage. Existing law sets the minimum wage for all industries at $9 per hour and, on January 1, 2016, raises the minimum wage for all industries to $10 per hour.  This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to the minimum wage.   This bill instead would set the minimum wage on and after January 1, 2016, at the amount necessary to keep a family of 3 above the supplemental poverty level.  Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:  SECTION 1.   Section 1182.12 of the   Labor Code   is amended to read:  1182.12. Notwithstanding any other provision of this part, on and after July 1, 2014, the minimum wage for all industries shall be not less than nine dollars ($9) per hour, and on and after January 1, 2016, the minimum wage for all industries  shall be not less than ten dollars ($10) per hour.  is set at the amount necessary to keep a family of three above the supplemental poverty level established by this United States Census Bureau.   SECTION 1.   It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to the minimum wage.
