 BILL NUMBER: AB 2276INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Brown FEBRUARY 18, 2016 An act to amend Section 75213 of the Public Resources Code, relating to greenhouse gases. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2276, as introduced, Brown. Greenhouse gases: emissions reduction. Existing law requires the Strategic Growth Council to develop and administer the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through projects that implement land use, housing, transportation, and agricultural land preservation practices to support infill and compact development and that support other related and coordinated public policy objectives. Existing law requires a project eligible for funding pursuant to the program to be encouraged to promote specified objectives and economic growth, reduce public fiscal costs, support civic partnerships and stakeholder engagement, and integrate and leverage existing housing, transportation, and land use programs and resources. This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 75213 of the Public Resources Code is amended to read: 75213. A project eligible for funding pursuant to the program shall be encouraged to promote the objectives  of   specified in  Section 75210  ,  and economic growth, reduce public fiscal costs, support civic partnerships and stakeholder engagement, and integrate and leverage existing housing, transportation, and land use programs and resources.
