LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGESTAB 1135, as introduced, Wood. California Marijuana Tax Fund. Existing law establishes the California Marijuana Tax Fund, which is funded by the taxes paid on nonmedical marijuana, to be used for specified purposes. Existing law, after other specified disbursements, requires the Controller to disburse 60% of the remaining funds to the State Department of Health Care Services for use for specified purposes, including prevention and early intervention services to recognize and reduce risks related to substance use and early signs of problematic use and substance use disorders. This bill would require the State Department of Public Health and the State Department of Education to establish an inclusive public stakeholder process to seek input from stakeholders to determine a disbursement formula for the funds provided to the State Department of Health Care Services from the California Marijuana Tax Fund and would require the findings of the stakeholder meetings to be given to the State Department of Health Care Services and considered by that department when determining funding priorities for those moneys.Digest Key Vote: MAJORITY Appropriation: NO Fiscal Committee: YES Local Program: NO Bill TextThe people of the State of California do enact as follows:SECTION 1.
