LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGESTAB 254, as introduced, Thurmond. Medi-Cal: local educational agencies: mental health services.Existing law provides for the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services, under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed by, and funded pursuant to, federal Medicaid Program provisions. Existing law provides that specified services provided by local educational agencies (LEAs) are covered Medi-Cal benefits, including, but not limited to, mental health evaluations, mental health education, and mental health and counseling services, are covered Medi-Cal benefits.
