The bill would require a nonminor dependent who is a custodial parent to receive the maximum benefit amount allotted for his or her household size. By increasing the duties of local officials, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program.The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state.
