The Budget Act of 2015 appropriates $192,795,000 to the Department of Water Resources from the Disaster Preparedness and Flood Prevention Bond Fund of 2006 for specified flood protection-related activities, including direct expenditures in cooperation with other agencies.Of the moneys appropriated to the department by the Budget Act of 2015, the bill would require the department to expend up to $110,000,000 for the upgrade of the levee system of Reclamation District No. 17 to provide the urban level of flood protection.This bill would make legislative findings and declarations as to the necessity of a special statute for Reclamation District No. 17.Existing law requires any funds appropriated for Yuba River debris control to be used for construction, renewal, and repair of works for restraining, impounding, and control of debris resulting from mining operations, natural erosion, and other causes.This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that provision.Digest Key Vote: MAJORITY Appropriation: NO Fiscal Committee: NOYES Local Program: NO Bill TextThe people of the State of California do enact as follows:SECTION 1.
