The bill would require the task force to, among other things, engage interested parties in the development of a system to improve the readability of medical bills and create a standard medical billing form. The report shall be submitted in compliance with Section 9795 of the Government Code.(e) As used in this section, health care entity includes a professional person, medical group, independent practice association, organization, health facility, or other person or institution licensed or authorized by the state to deliver or furnish health care services, a health care service plan licensed pursuant to the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975 (Chapter 2.2 (commencing with Section 1340) of Division 2), and a health insurer writing health insurance, as defined in Section 106 of the Insurance Code.
