The bill would also require, on or before an unspecified date, any entity that operates an industrial, institutional, or commercial laundry facility to adopt the use of the best available control technology to capture microfibers that are shed during washing.Existing law requires the State Department of Public Health to conduct various programs related to disease prevention and health promotion, including a program for identifying, screening, and providing followup care related to exposure to diethylstilbestrol while pregnant, which can cause fetal abnormalities.
