Existing law, the Financial Institutions Law, regulates the activities of various financial entities, including commercial banks, industrial banks, trust companies, credit unions, and savings associations. Existing law establishes the Department of Business Oversight, which is under the direction of the Commissioner of Business Oversight, and is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Financial Institutions Law. (a) Whenever it is necessary for the commissioner to approve any instrument and to affix his or her the commissioners official seal thereto, the commissioner shall charge a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) therefor.(b) Whenever it is proper for the department to furnish a copy of any paper that has been filed therein and to certify to the paper, the commissioner may only charge twenty-five cents ($0.25) up to ten cents ($0.10) for each page copied.(c) Whenever the commissioner is required or requested to certify copies of documents, the commissioner may charge a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) for certifying the copied documents and for affixing his or her the commissioners official seal.
