LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGESTAB 2997, as introduced, Gray. Career technical education programs: funding.Existing law establishes the California Career Technical Education Incentive Grant Program, administered by the State Department of Education, which is a state education, economic, and workforce development initiative with the goal of providing pupils with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition to employment and postsecondary education, with the purpose of encouraging and maintaining the delivery of career technical education programs.Existing law establishes the Strong Workforce Program, which provides funding to career technical education regional consortia made up of community college districts. Existing law requires the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges to provide a report to the Legislature containing specified information for each community college program that offers certificates or degrees related to allied health professionals.This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to ensure that eligible career technical educational programs qualify for available state funding, as specified.Digest Key Vote: MAJORITY Appropriation: NO Fiscal Committee: NO Local Program: NO Bill TextThe people of the State of California do enact as follows:SECTION 1.
