Existing law requires the executive director of the commission to convene the committee, from time to time, for the purpose of discussing matters of controlled gambling regulatory policy and any other relevant gambling-related issue.This bill would require the executive director to convene the committee at least twice annually, rather than from time to time, for the purpose of discussing those gambling policy matters and any other relevant gambling-related issue. The executive director shall, from time to time, at least twice annually, convene the committee for the purpose of discussing matters of controlled gambling regulatory policy and any other relevant gambling-related issue. The recommendations concerning gambling policy made by the committee shall be presented to the commission, but shall be deemed advisory and not binding on the commission in the performance of its duties or functions. The committee may shall not advise the commission on matters pertaining to Indian gaming.
