Existing law allows qualifying veterans who desire to continue their education to apply for admission to the institute and, if the Department of Veterans Affairs determines the educational needs of the veteran will be met, directs the department to assume state wardship over the education of the veteran. Existing law permits the department to provide for a veterans education in California, in other states, and in other countries.This bill would limit the departments ability to provide for a veterans education to educational institutions in California.
