2323 There is a state auxiliary services pilot program that arranges for
2424 the provision of auxiliary services for state departments and agencies that
2525 employ or serve individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind.
2626 The bill requires the Colorado commission for the deaf, hard of hearing,
2727 and deafblind (commission) to continue the operations of the state

3535 The commission is required to perform the following functions:
3636 ! Coordinate on a statewide basis the day-to-day scheduling

3838 ! Create and manage efficient and consistent processes
3939 through which an auxiliary services provider may submit
4040 required documentation and receive payment for auxiliary
4141 services provided;
4242 ! Create and manage a process for the intake and fulfillment
4343 of requests by state departments and agencies for auxiliary

4545 ! Resolve any issues that may arise with regard to auxiliary

4747 ! Communicate with auxiliary services users, auxiliary
4848 services providers, and appointing authorities; and
4949 ! Establish, monitor, and publish a list of CART providers
5050 and qualified interpreters.
5151 The bill requires the commission to convene an advisory council
5252 to make recommendations concerning the provision of auxiliary services.
5353 The bill requires the commission to include data on the functions
5454 of the program in its annual report to the governor and the general
5555 assembly.

120120 SECTION 2. Act subject to petition - effective date. This act11
121121 takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the12
122122 ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly; except13
123123 that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V14
124124 of the state constitution against this act or an item, section, or part of this15
125125 act within such period, then the act, item, section, or part will not take16
126126 effect unless approved by the people at the general election to be held in17
127127 November 2022 and, in such case, will take effect on the date of the18
128128 official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.19
