1111 WHEREAS, Parents invest an immeasurable amount of time,2
1212 energy, and devotion to raise their children in order to provide them with3
1313 the love, support, and guidance required to become responsible,4
1414 productive, and successful adults; and5
1515 WHEREAS, The responsibility of raising children is particularly6
1616 difficult when it falls on the shoulders of a single parent; and7
1717 WHEREAS, Over a quarter of U.S. families with children under8
1818 18 years of age are single-parent families, amounting to 10 million9
1919 households. In 2020, nearly 19 million children were living in10
2020 single-parent families in the United States; and11
2121 WHEREAS, In Colorado, over 10 percent of families are led by12
2222 single parents; and13
