8-ONCERNING THE USE OF HIGHER EDUCATION SPECIALTY EDUCATION
9-SERVICES FUNDING FOR THE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE PARTNERSHIP

12-Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
13-SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 23-18-304, amend
14-(1)(a)(I) as follows:
15-23-18-304. Funding for specialty education programs - area
16-technical colleges - local district colleges - repeal. (1) (a) (I) For the
17-2015-16 state fiscal year and each fiscal year thereafter, the board of regents
18-of the university of Colorado may annually negotiate a fee-for-service
19-contract with the department for the delivery of specialty education services
20-provided by the health sciences center campus of the university of
21-Colorado, established pursuant to section 23-20-101. For the 2015-16 state

35-REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF
36-COLORADO, and FOR the veterinary
37-medicine program at Colorado state university, established pursuant to
38-section 23-31-101. The amount of each fee-for-service contract negotiated
39-pursuant to this section must be equal to the amount of the fee-for-service
40-contract for the campus, service, or program for the preceding state fiscal
41-year, increased or decreased by a percentage equal to the percentage change
42-in the total state appropriation for the applicable state fiscal year from the
43-total state appropriation for the preceding state fiscal year.
44-SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,
45-PAGE 2-SENATE BILL 23-225 determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
46-preservation of the public peace, health, or safety.

48+medicine created a partnership that created a 4-year branch campus for
49+university of Colorado medical school students in Fort Collins
50+(partnership). The bill allows the use of specialty education services
51+funding for the partnership.
