99 ONCERNING RECOGNITION OF SINGLE PARENT DAY IN COLORADO.101
1010 WHEREAS, The greatest need of every child is to be loved; and1
1111 WHEREAS, Parents invest an immeasurable amount of time,2
1212 energy, and devotion to raise their children and to provide them with the3
1313 support and guidance required to become responsible, productive, and4
1414 successful adults; and5
1515 WHEREAS, The responsibility of raising children is particularly6
1616 difficult when it falls on the shoulders of a single parent, whether it be7
1717 due to divorce, death, or any other circumstance; and8
1818 WHEREAS, According to U.S. Census data, almost a quarter of9
1919 U.S. families with children under 18 years of age are single-parent10
2020 families, amounting to over 10 million households. In 2020, nearly 1911
2121 million children were living in single-parent families in the United States;12

2323 WHEREAS, The dedication and achievements of single parents14
