12		-	Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
13		-	SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 12-245-216, repeal
14		-	(1)(b)(I) as follows:
15		-	12-245-216. Mandatory disclosure of information to clients.
16		-	(1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (4) of this section, every
17		-	licensee, registrant, or certificate holder shall provide the following
18		-	information in writing to each client during the initial client contact:

	23	+	provide each client with an explanation of the levels of regulation and the
	24	+	differences between licensure, registration, and certification of mental
	25	+	health professionals.

	50	+	In order for an individual to obtain a registration as a psychologist
	51	+	candidate (PSYC), a clinical social worker candidate (SWC), a marriage
	52	+	and family therapist candidate (MFTC), a licensed professional counselor
	53	+	candidate (LPCC), or an addiction counselor candidate (ADDC), the bill
	54	+	requires the individual to pass the Colorado jurisprudence examination.
	55	+	The bill authorizes PSYCs, SWCs, MFTCs, LPCCs, and ADDCs
	56	+	to renew their candidate registrations if they are unable to complete all the
	57	+	post-degree licensure requirements within the 4-year time frame that a
	58	+	registration is valid and allows candidates whose registrations have
	59	+	expired to reapply for the registration.
	60	+	The bill updates the definition of "practice of licensed professional
	61	+	counseling".
	62	+	On or before December 31, 2024,the state board of psychologist
	63	+	examiners, the state board of social work examiners, the state board of
	64	+	marriage and family therapist examiners, the state board of licensed
	65	+	professional counselor examiners, and the state board of addiction
	66	+	counselor examiners are required to begin the rule-making process to
	67	+	align their respective rules with their respective practice acts.
	68	+	Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:1
	69	+	SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 12-245-216, repeal2
	70	+	(1)(b)(I) as follows:3

43		-	registration - rules. (3) (a) The board shall register as a psychologist
44		-	candidate a person who files an application for registration, accompanied
45		-	by the fee required by section 12-245-205, and who:
46		-	(II) Has not been previously registered as a psychologist candidate
47		-	by the board.
48		-	(III) HAS PASSED A JURISPRUDENCE EXAMINATION ADMINISTERED BY

51		-	(b) A psychologist candidate registered pursuant to this subsection

54		-	subsections (1)(d) and (1)(e) of this section are not met within four THREE
55		-	years, the registration of the psychologist candidate expires and is not
56		-	renewable unless the board, in its discretion, grants the candidate an
57		-	extension. A person whose psychologist candidate registration expires is not
58		-	precluded from applying for licensure or registration with any other mental
59		-	health board for which the person is qualified IS SUBJECT TO THE RENEWAL,

91		-	registration - rules. (1) The board shall license as a licensed social worker
92		-	a person who files an application in a form and manner required by the
93		-	board, submits the fee required by the board pursuant to section
94		-	12-245-205, and submits evidence satisfactory to the board that the
95		-	applicant:
96		-	(c) Demonstrates professional
97		-	LEGAL AND ETHICAL competence by
98		-	satisfactorily passing an examination in social work as prescribed by the
99		-	board and a jurisprudence examination administered by the division.
100		-	(3) (a) The board or its designated representative shall give the
101		-	examination described in subsection (1)(c) of this section and in subsection
102		-	(2)(d) of this section at least twice per year at a time and place and under the
103		-	supervision determined by the board.
104		-	(4) (a) The board shall register as a clinical social worker candidate
105		-	a person who files an application for registration, accompanied by the fee

107		-	this article 245 or any rules promulgated by the board, and who:
108		-	(II) Has not been previously registered as a clinical social worker
