470 | + | (2) For the 2024-25 state fiscal year, $38,406 is appropriated to9 | |
471 | + | the department of law. This appropriation is from reappropriated funds10 | |
472 | + | received from the department of regulatory agencies under subsection11 | |
473 | + | (1)(c) of this section and is based on an assumption that the department12 | |
474 | + | of law will require an additional 0.2 FTE. To implement this act, the13 | |

477 | + | SECTION 6. Act subject to petition - effective date. This act16 | |
478 | + | takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the17 | |
479 | + | ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly; except18 | |
480 | + | that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V19 | |
481 | + | of the state constitution against this act or an item, section, or part of this20 | |
482 | + | act within such period, then the act, item, section, or part will not take21 | |
483 | + | effect unless approved by the people at the general election to be held in22 | |
484 | + | November 2024 and, in such case, will take effect on the date of the23 | |
485 | + | official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.24 | |
