2222 The bill increases the maximum number of transportation planning
2323 regions of the state from 15 to 16. This increase in the maximum number
2424 of transportation planning regions results in the potential membership of
2525 the statewide transportation advisory committee also increasing by one
2626 member, from 17 to 18 members.

3434 SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 43-1-1102, amend2
3535 (8)(a) as follows:3
3636 43-1-1102. Definitions. For the purposes of this part 11, unless4
3737 the context otherwise requires:5
3838 (8) (a) "Transportation planning region" means a region of the6
3939 state as defined by the rule or regulation process required by section7
4040 43-1-1103 (5). The maximum number of such regions shall be fifteen IS8
4141 SIXTEEN unless such number is increased pursuant to paragraph (b) of this9
4242 subsection (8) SUBSECTION (8)(b) OF THIS SECTION.10
4343 SECTION 2. Act subject to petition - effective date. This act11
4444 takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the expiration of the12
4545 ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly; except13
4646 that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V14
4747 of the state constitution against this act or an item, section, or part of this15
4848 act within such period, then the act, item, section, or part will not take16
4949 effect unless approved by the people at the general election to be held in17
5050 November 2026 and, in such case, will take effect on the date of the18
5151 official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.19
