22	22		Under current law, health benefit insurance plans (health benefit
23	23		plans) include coverage for "gender-affirming health care" as part of
24	24		individual and group health benefit plans. "Gender-affirming health care"
25	25		is defined in the bill as supplies, care, and services of a medical,
26	26		behavioral health, mental health, psychiatric, habilitative, surgical,
27	27		therapeutic, diagnostic, preventive, rehabilitative, or supportive nature

44	40		care). The bill codifies gender-affirming health care treatments in statute
45	41		and prohibits a health benefit plan from denying or limiting medically
46	42		necessary gender-affirming health care, as determined and prescribed by
47	43		a physical or behavioral health-care provider (health-care provider).
48	44		In addition, the bill exempts prescriptions for testosterone from the
49	45		tracking requirements of the prescription drug use monitoring program
50	46		and blocks archived records from view.
51	47		Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:1

147	143		the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state22
148	144		institutions.23
