1616 WHEREAS, The federal government is currently engaging in an1
1717 ideological erasure against institutions, people, photos, websites, public2
1818 information, or acknowledgments that could conceivably be considered3
1919 supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion; and4
2020 WHEREAS, These attacks have extended into the U.S.5
2121 Department of Defense, and have led to the removal, suppression, and6
2222 erasure of key facets of America's proud military history; and7
2323 WHEREAS, These efforts at suppression and erasure have led to8
2424 removing lessons from Basic Airman training regarding the Tuskegee9
2525 Airmen, removal of informational websites regarding the Japanese10

4141 to the 54th Massachusetts, Harlem Hellfighters, and Buffalo Soldier10
4242 Regiments; from the women of WAVES and WACS to Navajo Code11
4343 Talkers; to Dr. Mary Walker, Pvt. Henry Johnson, Pvt. Marcelino Serna,12
4444 Lt. Col. Charles Rogers, and Captain Humayun Khan; and13
4545 WHEREAS, Many of these stories of military honor and valor14
4646 have Colorado connections, from Maj. Gen. Maurice Rose, Pvt. George15
4747 Sakato, and Pvt. Joe Martinez, to the four Pueblo-native Congressional16
4848 Medal of Honor recipients leading to the City of Pueblo's designation as17
4949 "The Home of Heroes"; and18
5050 WHEREAS, Combat and war should never be glorified, but in19
5151 very few fulcrums do the bonds of brotherhood show themselves across20
5252 the myriad divisions mankind places between themselves; and21
5353 WHEREAS, The promise to our forebears as heirs to this shared22
5454 history is that: "From this day to the ending of the world, but we in it shall23
5555 be remembered"; now, therefore,24
5656 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Seventy-fifth25
5757 General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:26
5858 (1) That we, the Seventy-fifth Colorado General Assembly,27
5959 hereby condemn the removal, suppression, and attempts to erase our28
6060 shared American military history; and29
6161 (2) That we, the Seventy-fifth Colorado General Assembly,30
6262 demand, as heirs of these storied units, traditions, and people, that our31
6363 American military history not be removed, suppressed, or erased for32
6464 ourselves and future generations of Americans.33
6565 Be It Further Resolved, That copies of this Joint Resolution be sent34

6868 Governor of Colorado, and the members of Colorado's congressional2
