14-Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
15-SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 37-41-107, amend (5)
16-as follows:
17-37-41-107. Office of board - elections. (5) Each judge of election
18-shall receive as compensation the sum of up to one hundred
19-FIFTY dollars
20-per day, to be paid by the district.
21-SECTION 2. In Colorado Revised Statutes, amend 37-41-108 as
22-follows:

48+directors that involves a consideration that exceeds $250,000 but does not
49+exceed $400,000 must be authorized and ratified in writing by no less
50+than one-third of the electors of the irrigation district according to the
51+number of votes cast at the last district election. A contract that exceeds
52+$400,000 must be authorized and ratified at an election in the manner
53+provided for the issuance of bonds.
54+To account for inflation, the bill:
55+! Increases the amount of compensation for members of a
56+board of directors and judges of election to up to $150 per
57+day; and
58+! Requires that, to be binding, a contract entered into by a
59+board of directors that exceeds $400,000 but does not
60+exceed $650,000 must be authorized and ratified in writing
61+by no less than one-third of the electors of the irrigation
62+district according to the number of votes cast at the last
63+district election, and a contract that exceeds $650,000 must
64+be authorized and ratified at an election in the manner
65+provided for the issuance of bonds.
66+The bill requires that the dollar amounts related to compensation
67+of members of a board of directors and judges of election, as well as those
68+related to contracts entered into by a board of directors, must be increased
69+every 5 years, beginning July 1, 2029, according to the rate of inflation.
70+Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:1
71+SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 37-41-107, amend2

34-reimbursed for his or her THEIR actual and necessary expenses while

36-ARTICLE 41 shall NOT be interested, directly or indirectly, in any manner, in
37-any contract awarded or to be awarded by the board or in the profits to be
38-derived therefrom
39- FROM THE CONTRACT, nor shall he or she THEY receive
40-any bonds, gratuity, or bribe. For any violation of this section, such officer
41-commits a class 6 felony and shall be punished as provided in section
42-18-1.3-401. C.R.S.

45-SECTION 3. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 37-41-113, amend (4)

75-SECTION 5. Act subject to petition - effective date -
76-applicability. (1) This act takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following
77-the expiration of the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the
78-general assembly; except that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to
79-section 1 (3) of article V of the state constitution against this act or an item,
80-section, or part of this act within such period, then the act, item, section, or
81-part will not take effect unless approved by the people at the general
82-election to be held in November 2026 and, in such case, will take effect on
83-the date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.
