AN ACT CONCERNING VENDING MACHINE SALES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subdivision (27) of section 12-412 of the 2010 supplement to the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2010, and applicable to sales on and after October 1, 2010):
(27) (A) Sales of any items for fifty cents or less from vending machines; or (B) notwithstanding the provisions of subdivision (13) of this section, meals, carbonated beverages, candy and confectionaries sold through coin-operated vending machines or meals sold at unattended "honor boxes".
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To exempt candy and carbonated beverages sold at vending machines from the sales tax.
