2424 AN ACT CONCERNING COMPLIANCE WITH THE MILITARY SELECTIVE SERVICE ACT.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2010) (a) As used in this section, "license" means a motor vehicle operator's license, commercial driver's license or learner's permit issued pursuant to chapter 246 of the general statutes, or an identity card issued pursuant to section 1-1h of the general statutes.

3030 (b) Any person under twenty-six years of age who is required to register with the Selective Service System in accordance with the Military Selective Service Act, 50 USC App. 451 et seq., as from time to time amended, upon submission of an application for issuance or renewal of a license, shall be deemed to have given consent to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles to transmit to the Selective Service System the necessary information for such registration.

3232 (c) Upon receipt of an application for issuance or renewal of a license from any person under twenty-six years of age who is required to register with the Selective Service System, the commissioner shall electronically transmit to the Selective Service System the information necessary for such registration.

3434 (d) The application for issuance or renewal of a license shall state that submission of the application shall serve as the applicant's consent to registration with the Selective Service System.

3636 (e) The commissioner may accept money from the Selective Service System to pay any costs incurred in implementing this section.
