26 | 26 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

28 | 28 | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2010) Notwithstanding any section of the general statutes, local police departments shall transmit all routine police calls on unencrypted channels. The Department of Public Safety shall adopt regulations in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes to establish criteria for which calls are routine and when local police departments may use encrypted channels. | |
