AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Section 4d-14 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2010):

(a) Not later than October first, annually, the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management shall submit to the Governor and the General Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a, (1) the updated strategic plan established under section 4d-7, and (2) a report on the activities of the Department of Information Technology and cost savings and improvements in the efficiency of information and telecommunication systems of state agencies, which are attributable to the efforts of said department.

(b) Not later than October first, annually, the Chief Information Officer shall submit a report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a, to the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management, the Governor and the General Assembly (1) specifying potential opportunities for increasing the efficiency or reducing the costs of the state's information and telecommunication systems, and (2) including a plan to realize such opportunities.
