AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN ANIMAL ABUSER REGISTRY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to create an animal abuser registry and require pet store owners, private breeders and animal shelters to check such registry prior to allowing an individual to purchase or adopt an animal.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent the further abuse of animals by known animal abusers.
