(By Request) AN ACT CONCERNING PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR COLD WAR VETERANS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 506 of the general statutes be amended to define "Cold War veteran" as any person who served in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corp, Coast Guard and Air Force in full-time, active service, other than training, for a period of more than one year, during the period beginning on September 2, 1945, and ending on December 26, 1991, who was honorably discharged and awarded a Cold War Recognition Certificate, and that section 12-81 of the general statutes be amended to allow municipalities the option of providing such Cold War veterans a property tax exemption. Statement of Purpose: To allow municipalities the option of providing a property tax exemption to Cold War veterans.
