AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROGRAM OF REIMBURSEMENT TO MUNICIPALITIES FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to authorize municipalities to collect in property taxes from owners of manufacturing machinery and equipment that is purchased after July 1, 2011, and is otherwise exempt from property taxes an amount equal to the difference between the actual per cent of reimbursement as a state payment in lieu of taxes and the full amount of the property tax that would have been due if not for the exemption.
Statement of Purpose:
To make up the difference between the promised reimbursement to municipalities for exempt manufacturing machinery and equipment and the actual property tax due to municipalities for such exempt equipment.
