2525 AN ACT ALLOWING THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY OF A DECEASED VETERAN TO RECEIVE CERTIFIED COPIES OF A DEATH CERTIFICATE AT NO CHARGE.

2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2929 That section 7-51a of the general statutes be amended to require the town clerk or the registrar of vital statistics, or their assistants, as the case my be, to provide two certified copies of the death certificate of a deceased veteran at no charge to the immediate family of the deceased in order to allow the family to apply for burial and survivor benefits. Failure to provide such certificates as directed shall be subject to a fine of two hundred fifty dollars.
