AN ACT REQUIRING A FOUR-DAY WORKWEEK FOR CERTAIN STATE EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 67 of the general statutes be amended to change the regular workweek of state employees from five days a week to four ten-hour days per week, provided the Connecticut State University System, judicial branch, Department of Correction and other state employees who provide critical state services shall be exempt from such schedule modification.

Statement of Purpose: 

To achieve cost savings by closing state offices one day a week.
