AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL LEGISLATIVE BODIES AND ARBITRATION AWARDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that when a local legislative body rejects an arbitration award by a two-thirds majority vote, the contract shall go back to negotiations rather than to a binding arbitration panel.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require that arbitration awards rejected by a local legislative body return to negotiations rather than to a binding arbitration panel.
