AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF THE METHOD OF ASSESSING PROPERTY TAX.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That a volunteer panel be established to study the effects of transitioning from a municipal ad valorem tax to fixed square footage tax rates.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a panel to study whether fixed square footage tax rates would add predictability to, and remove subjective valuations from, the property tax system.
